Aereo SXSW GIF Photo Booth

Here at Limelight we are always working away at new and innovative products to offer. We can often be found in the depths of our warehouse testing out new projects and playing around with exciting new ideas… (can we say 3D hologram??!) So as you can imagine, when we get the chance to employ our new ideas in the field its always thrilling!

Our photo booth was recently invited to take center stage at SXSW in Austin, Tx with live-streaming TV company Aereo.  Aereo was hosting a secret party during SXSW Interactive week, where the major players and young start-ups come to show off new and exciting technology innovations.

We were asked to provide a GIF Photo Booth, which is one of our newest offerings. Our GIFs were created by taking 4 still images and compiling them into a virtual flip book, or mini stop-motion movie. Each guest also received a printed copy with all 4 photos on it.

Of course the party was lively, as hosted bars usually are, and we had several hundreds of guests each day taking part in the fun. These GIFS have since found their way to many user’s Tumblrs, and Twitters and have been re-blogged several times over!

We fully enjoyed our time in the state of Texas, and despite a little rain this year had a wonderful experience. We are excited for SXSW 2015 and hope to be a major part of the film, music, and interactive conferences and festivities. Who knows what kind of new thing we will have dreamed up by then!
